July 2009
31 children have attended this summer’s Activity Scheme and enjoyed a range of activities and trips such as swimming; fishing; art; pottery; boating; picnics; Animal Park; outdoor games etc. Bill and Donna were assisted by sessional workers, volunteers and young leaders - our young leaders have been former participants within the Project and are now using their skills and experiences for the benefit of others.
The fund-raising is now gathering speed! This month we received £700 donation from Fife Charities Trust; £250 donation from Exxon Mobil; £200 donation from Grille City, Crieff; £139 raised at a car boot sale in Crail; £100 donated by two grateful parents; £60 donation from Mr and Mrs Walker, Basingstoke, Essex; a grand total of £1,449!
The end of the month saw the Care Commission inspection of the Project taking place and we await the outcomes with great anticipation. The Care Commission Officers appeared to be very impressed with the depth and range of services on offer to the children and families we work with – to date this year some 31 children have received a service – we look forward to reading their report in due course and shall upload this to the web-site.
